We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our friendly team, based at our Liversedge manufacturing site.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Responsible for efficient procurement of raw materials, packaging, goods and services at the most competitive prices, from approved sources and delivered in accordance to Business requirements.

Employment status: Full-Time, permanent

Hours: 37.5 per week, 08:30-17:00

Location: Vitrition, Liversedge

Reports to: Managing Director

Responsibilities:

  • Proactive, competitive procurement of materials and services, purchasing in organised manner ensuring availability of materials to complete production plan.
  • Oversee Stock and Stock Levels ensuring visibility and control is maintained.
  • Improvement of Product Profit Margins by Achievement of Cost Savings v Budget.
  • The procurement of materials against business requirements, ensuring costs and order quantities procured are in line with budgeted/forecasted costs.
  • Ensuring raw materials are ordered and delivered in line with Production forecast and delivered on time and in full.
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments on stock ensuring all Stakeholders are informed of any key issue.
  • Management of Supply base, maintaining effective, clear communication on all issues relating to Procurement of Stock and Suppliers.
  • Challenge and negotiation of prices PRIOR to placing orders, checking market prices at time of Order.
  • Evaluate opportunities for Price Reductions on regularly procured materials e.g contracts and call offs.
  • Oversee stock levels with Stock Controller maintaining close control of stock levels of all categories of stock with clear visibility and control of stock at all times.
  • Successfully source new products and materials to specification from Approved suppliers in line with development project timescales.
  • Identify cost savings via improved Procurement/Sourcing/Change of Service Providers etc.
  • Maintain awareness of Key Ingredient price trends & share knowledge to Internal Teams
  • Demonstrate focus on the quality of all tasks you undertake and any other duties as may be reasonably requested in line with the job role.

Skills

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Previous work within Purchasing Manager Role
  • Previous experience in Food Manufacturing Industry
  •  Proficient using Microsoft Office; Excel and Outlook.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential; role will require strong communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Microsoft NAV experience advantageous.
  • CIPS Level 3 or above Qualified.
