We are looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join our site in Liversedge. You will assist the Quality Manager in ensuring that the site conforms to the requirements of the Quality and Food Safety Management system, BRC standard, Food Safety Law and Legislation, and customer specification.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Employment status: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 37.5hrs a week; 08:30-17:00 Monday to Friday.

Location: Liversedge, West Yorkshire region.

Responsibilities:

• To be familiar with the company quality policy statement and what it means

• QA/QC function (staff) and standards.

• To work for the achievement of quality and food safety at all times and bring to the attention of management any areas of concern where you feel this is being compromised or could be improved.

• Support with maintaining site accreditation and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Supporting Quality projects and improvement activities within the department

• To ensure that Health and safety and Hygiene standards are maintained at all time.

• Raise and maintain NCR reports as required to facilitate continuous improvement activities.

• Investigate Quarantined stock to allow release or recommend stock disposal.

• Liaise with production supervisors to resolve any non-conformance issues and providing support as required.

• Swabbing, Signing off CCP’s

• Creating lab reports/certificates of analysis for finished products.

• Attend the monthly Food Safety meetings.

• Approval of all incoming packaging to QC check cards.

• Conduct monthly audits as per schedule and create audit reports, communicates and follow ups.

• To assist with site audits as and when carried out by local authority or customers.

Ideal Candidate:

Knowledge of the various methodologies used to test the products and what the test results mean for the properties of the product.

• Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety

• Previous QA/QC working experience in Food Industry

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Must be flexible, hard-working and possess a positive attitude to work.
