We are currently recruiting for a New Product Development Technician to join our development team, based at our Liversedge manufacturing site.

This is a great opportunity for NPD Technician to join our team to play a valuable role in the development of our exciting innovative product portfolio. Liaising closely with internal and external teams to develop new product formulations from concept to launch! The role will involve researching, sourcing and approving raw material ingredients and understanding their suitability in order to use in Nutraceutical/Health supplements.

This job is suitable for a person with Chemistry or Food Technology background at undergraduate level.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Working in busy innovative NPD team in nutraceutical sector working on powder, liquid and gel formulations across a range of Categories.
  • Selection of new ingredients, actives, flavours through research and literature review.
  • Origination of product formulations based on customer product briefs.
  • Management of individual projects as well as working on departmental objectives.
  • Coordination and documentation of NPD activity.
  • Preparation of samples for customers, internal taste sessions and NPD meetings.
  • Completion of product specifications for customers.
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support to NPD & Business Development Teams
  • Involvement in Production Trials for scale up of New Product Developments

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Preferably a graduate in a Chemistry/Food related discipline
  • 2 years experience is desirable in product development role
  • Strong communications skills – the role will interact with many internal and external parties
  • Organised and methodical to assist in managing multiple projects.
  • Able to work independently
  • Experience of working in BRC accredited Food Manufacturing environment an advantage

Working hours will be 37.5 per week, Flexibility between Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00.
